Department overview

The Department of Botany was established in the year 2001, a three- year Degree Programme of B. Sc. with the motive of imparting quality education to students from rural areas in and around Parbhani district. A three-year bachelor’s degree program provides the foundation for prospective botanists to pursue a graduate level education or find an entry-level career.

The department has three efficient and dedicated faculty and who strive to offer the learners holistic development, academic excellence and research orientation. The faculty members of the Department are up-to-date in their respective fields and dedicated towards their work. The faculty members are specialized in diverse fields of plant science right from plant pathology and plant physiology to plant taxonomy. The Department of Botany is equipped with basic instrumentation facilities and has plans to bring in sophisticated state-of-the-art instruments in the coming years.

The main target of the department has always been to make the students realize the importance of plants and strengthen their knowledge towards biodiversity conservation for the betterment of the society at large.

The Dept. of Botany endowed with the well qualified and trained teachers who, along the education of subject also took the training of teaching skills. Both the faculty is doctorate in Botany & has done research.

The department is equipped with the modern gadgets for conduction experiments and to develop basic skills.
