Departmental Inputs
1. Department overview (50 words): Department of Zoology was established in 2001. Two faculty members working in the department. Both have completed their M. Phil & Ph.D’s in their relevant subject. Every academic year department arrange excursion for all BSc classes to different natural environmental sites. To develop stage courage among students department conducts seminars for BSc T.Y. students. Also, in the faculty exchange programme department organizes guest lecture of reputed faculty. The aims of zoology department is to produce graduate’s with requisite zoological knowledge and techniques necessary for various fields related to biology like cell biology, developmental biology, animal physiology, genetics, ecology, fisheries sciences and biotechnology.
2. Intake capacity of students: For BSc First Year is 24 students
3. Departmental activities: Department conducts excursions of all BSc classes. Department encourages students in research work by participating research festivals, research projects, workshops and conferences. Department use modern teaching methods such as charts, specimens, models, power point presentations. 5. Departments achievements: Students from Zoology department achieved prizes in Avishkar Research Festival, conducted by SRTM University, Nanded Department has successfully organized National Conference on subject Life Sciences Major Challenges in September 2015. Department has successfully organized University level subject workshop on BSc S.Y New syllabus. One of the faculty member Dr. Mrs. H.D. Makne received Best Teacher award. Faculty members of department successfully completed MRP’s sanctioned by UGC and SRTM University. One of the faculty members recognized as research guide, also both faculty members recognized as PG teachers by SRTM University.
